BOLT

Today we took Landon to go see Bolt! It was his first time ever going to a movie at a theater. We were very nervous because our child has WAY TOO much energy and can barely sit still for a few minutes, but we thought maybe if it was a movie he would really like he would sit through it. He did SO GOOD!! We were amazed. We didn't have to take him out of the theater once. He just sat there with his popcorn for a good hour and then played a little in front of his seat! We were so glad :) Needless to say, he loved the movie. Adam and I both thought it was really good too. If you haven't seen it yet, we recommend it.

P.S. We hope everyone had a great Christmas (I'll be posting those pics here soon) and that you all have a wonderful New Year!!

So Proud Of Myself

I just had to say real quick how proud I am of myself! I am the worst procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping. I am usually out picking up last minute things the day or two before, but not this year!! All my shopping is done!! The presents are even all wrapped and under the tree!! YEAH!

Potty Training!!

We have begun the infinite struggle between child and parent: Potty Training. I really hadn't given much thought to starting yet until we went to the Dr. and he asked if we had started potty training landon and how it was going. My initial thought was "Uh oh, he just turned 2 a few days ago, was I supposed to start? Isn't 2 kinda young?" But apparently 2 isn't young at all if the kid is ready. Landon had been showing a few signs that he was interested, so why not try? But, the whole point of this post is to say that I was SO PROUD of Landon yesterday, it was only his second day training and he peed in the potty twice!! He was so excited the first time that we had to call daddy, grandma Flynn, and grandpa Sawyer and share our success. Granted the second time it was more all over the bathroom floor than in the toilet (why the companies think that little gaurd on the front of the seat actually does anything, is beyond me). Gotta love little boys :) Sorry if my sharing grosses anyone out that doesn't have kids, but the other moms out there will understand about being excited over pee in a toilet :)

Hungry Hungry Hippos

This post is for aunt Beckie. Her family got Landon hungry hungry hippos for his birthday and I think she wasn't sure that he would like it. I didn't open it at the party because I didn't want to lose the little balls all over the house during the party mayhem. So this is to show Beckie how much he loved it!!

Chunky Monkey

Landon had his 2 yr check-up with the Dr. yesterday. People are always telling me how Landon looks so big and that he looks older than just 2. I always thought he was pretty close to average, but apparently not. For his height he is in the 98th percentile and his chunkiness is in the 72nd! The funny thing is, he doesn't look chunky at all. He is just solid! I also just want to give a little kudos to my Dr.'s office. We go to the pediatric clinic at McKay and they just joined this new program that encourages kids to read, so now every time you go for a well-kid check-up they give you a book! Landon was so excited when he got a book and a sucker, maybe the Dr. isn't so bad, but then he got the shot :( I just thought that's neat that they give out books now, I'm just a dork :)

Amazing Art

A friend sent me an email with these chalk art pictures. They are amazing. It's all done on the flat sidewalk, but he makes them look 3-dimensional. The artists name is Julian Beever (I believe). These were just a few of my favorites :)

Birthday Boy

Landon celebrated his 2nd Birthday!! I can't believe he is 2 already! Time goes by way too fast. We had all the family over to the house to have cake and open presents. Landon is probably the only 2 yr old in the world that doesn't like cake and ice cream! So instead we had strawberry short cake and Landon just had a big bowl of strawberries. Whatever makes the birthday boy happy right?

This was a pic of some pre-party fun. Landon loves trampolines, but seeing as we don't have one, he turns anything and everything he can into one.

I think we could use a bigger house with a bigger livingroom :)

This year everything was Thomas the Train. The decorations, the plates, the napkins, the cake would've been if he liked cake :), and the majority of the presents were too! He loved them all! Thanks everyone!!

Landon and Grandpa playing with one of the many Thomas the Train toys :)

This was probably one of Landon's absolute favorite presents. Josh and Bo got him a Thomas tent! I didn't set it up until most everyone was gone, but his reaction was priceless. He was so excited!! His very own train!! I thought we might have to put a sleeping bag on the floor inside and let him sleep in it. He was not coming out of it for anything. I know we will be watching Thomas every morning now from inside hte train :)

Christmas Present :)

Just thought I would throw this out there, we are selling Adam's electric guitar on KSL.com if anyone knows anyone who is looking for one. It would make a great Christmas present :) Here's the link http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=4957823&cat=64&lpid==

Black Friday

Yes, I am one of those crazy women that get up insanely early to go wait in lines to get good deals. My in-laws introduced me into this tradition when I joined the family and I have gone every year since! Even when I don't really have anything I need or want to get :) I didn't go 2 years ago due to the fact that I didn't want my water to break or get hurt while 9 months pregnant in the madness at Wal-mart. I do think it's so sad to hear stories about crazed people that hurt others trying to get the good deals!! My in-laws will tell all sorts of stories about the other side of me that comes out during black friday. I don't get violent or anything, but I get in there and get what I want. This year was suprisingly calm. We started at 5am at Sports Authority to get some adjustable weights Adam has been really wanting and it was so relaxed, it felt unnatural :) We always make a girl's day out of it and hit all the stores and do breakfast and then a movie. This year we saw Four Christmases. It was HILARIOUS!! Beckie was crying at the end she was laughing so hard.

Then crazy me got up again this morning, at 7am though which wasn't bad, and proceeded to Big Lots to get a tool bench for Landon. I was first in line :) It was funny because I show up and there are 6 or 7 cars just waiting in the parking lot and not lined up yet in front of the doors. I came prepared with a blanket and book and dressed really warm. So, I just get out of my car and go sit in front of the door. It was funny to see how quickly the others emerged from the warmth of their cars :)

Happy Turkey Day!!

I know I'm a day early, but I doubt I'll be able to make it on the computer tomorrow to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Dig in :)

A Glimpse into my Mornings

Landon has developed a routine of waking up around 5am and wanting to come into our room and watch cartoons. No matter what time we put him to bed he wakes up between 4am and 5am wanting to get up for the day. Adam and I decided we would try locking his door at night (since he hasn't figured out how to unlock yet, just open doors) and let him cry until he goes back to sleep. I know it sounds so mean, but it's the only thing that seems to work with him. If any mothers out there have had similiar issue with their kids and sleep , I'd love input :) So this morning I put him back in his room and locked the door. I don't know if it was a fluke or what but eventually he got the lock turned and was climbing into bed with me demanding the TV be turned on. So, I gave in and let him watch for a bit, but I was so tired I decided to try putting him down one more time. It worked and I finally decided I better go wake him up when 9:30 rolled around. He is never very happy when he gets woken up :) I just think his grumpy faces are so cute, I thought I'd share :)

I think I tried taking this same picture about 7 times and could not get one with his right eye open :)

A Day at the Temple

Yesterday Jake went through the temple!! It was really cool because this was the first time Adam's entire immediate family was all there. It's not often that everyone in your family is old enough, active, and all in the same state to be able to all go through together.

All the siblings with their spouses. I'll have to update later with a pic of the whole family. The guy we asked to take our pic either thought I wanted the entire temple in the background or didn't know how to zoom in. Because all the pics he took are so far away you can't make out who anyone is in the pic :)
Brad and Kathy have the hardest time getting good pics when all the siblings are in the shot together. Geez, I wonder why?

Me and my cute hubby in front of the temple.
The sun was directly in our eyes, so please excuse the squinting :)

Twilight Review

So I might get some death threats after posting this, but I was kinda disappointed. I went into the movie knowing it wasn't going to be anywhere near as good as the book. But, there are other movies made from books (that aren't as good as the book) but I've still really liked those movies. Twilight was ok, but I can't say that I really loved it. I might like it more the next time I watch it. That's happened before, when Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire came out I hated it the first time I saw it, but after watching it a couple times, it's one of my favorite in the series. I think that happens sometimes with movies from books because you have a certain idea in your head of what you're expecting and then it turns out different. I did like the 2nd half of the movie better than the 1st half. I just thought the first was really choppy. I don't want to say too much and spoil it for anyone. I just thought they put too many scenes in that weren't needed and speeded through more important scenes that should've been longer. Which made it so there wasn't great character development. Overall I thought it was good, don't get me wrong, it wasn't so horrible I wanted to walk out, (though I do think my mother-in-law was close) but it just wasn't as great as I hoped it would be. Just have to wait and see if I like it better the next time I see it. What are your thoughts who have seen it?
The rest of the night was a lot fo fun though. We went to eat at Iggy's and then went to the movie. Here are some pics :)

Dinner at Iggy's.

Hanging out waiting for the show to start. Of course we were the last group to check in and got the front row :) But the seats weren't bad and we didn't have to wait in line for 2 hrs to get the tickets. 2 of our poor friends had to sit on the floor though. The diagram of the theatre they gave us had 3 extra seats in the front row, that weren't really there. They claim they wouldn't have sold us tickets that didn't have seats, but as all the rest of the seats were full??

Today's the Day

It may appear that I am a crazed Twilight fan, but I'm really not :) I do like it very much, but I just came across this background and had to put it on for one day in honor of today :) Funny crazed fan story though. When Breaking Dawn came out a group of us had a girl's night and went to dinner and a movie and then went to get the book at midnight at Barnes n Noble (which I don't suggest, Walmart has the release thing figured out :) ). Well the lady standing next to us in line was saying how she was on the freeway and there was an accident, (I'm sure it was some other crazed fan getting a little too anxious) so traffic was really backed up. So, this lady leaves her friend (whos driving thankfully) in the car on the freeway and hiked like a mile+ up the freeway and off the ramp and walked to Barnes n Noble!! She said she was considering trying to hop the freeway fence, but then decided it wasn't that much farther to walk the ramp!! So I am a fan, just not all sorts of crazy :)

Just an FYI

So I thought I should just make a little note and explain why so many of the comments people are leaving me are being deleted. I'm not being rude by deleting them and people aren't leaving me rude or weird comments. I've been blog hoping lately and have found a ton of old friends, yeah I've been so excited :). But, they have been leaving comments with their email address and out of courtesy I have been deleting them so their email isn't posted on my blog for all to see :) Just thought I'd explain real quick so people don't think anything weird :) And also to let anyone know that if you do leave me your email to invite me to your blog or something, I will delete it for you as soon as I see it. I saw on some elses blog where after you leave a comment it has to be reviewed by the author before it's allowed to show up on the blog. Does anyone know how to do this that can explain it to me? I'm not very computer savy, but I'm big on the whole privacy protection and I think that would be an even more secure way for people to leave me any personal info. Thanks!

SO EXCITED!!!!

So I just had to leave a little tid bit to say that only 3 more days until Twilight comes out!! I'm so excited. A girl at my work knows someone who rented out an entire theatre for the midnight showing so I was able to get some tickets!! I'm excited for a girls night out too. We are going to go out to eat first and then all go to the movie. Should be FUN!! I'll post my review after :)

Daddy's Proudest Moment

Adam has been plotting to teach Landon to skate since about 2 seconds after we found out we were pregnant. He was convinced we were having a boy right away and he always said he was going to skate before he could walk. Well when his first birthday rolled around we thought about getting him skates but then decided we would wait a little while since he still wasn't the greatest walker. That was when we decided to make the 2nd birthday the hockey birthday. I know it isn't his birthday yet, but he is 2, he will forget about the helmet and it will be a surprise when he opens it on his birthday :) He was just so cute trying it on in the store I had to bring him home and take pictures.

OOOOUUUCH!!

Can you say ouch! So, Adam and I have started doing P90X again and I am so sore! If you have never heard of P90X you should go onto beachbody.com and check it out. It's a hard core fitness program where you do these intense workouts 6 days a week for 3 months. We did it once before and did it everyday for 2 months but then I got sick and we both kinda stopped. But we've started up again and that's why I've been slacking on the blog, so sorry :) been too busy working out. Adam wants to post our before and after pictures, but I told him it depends on what my after picture looks like if I'm brave enough to post the before pic :) We'll see.

Landon and "Unca Gake"

For Halloween we went and Trick or Treated at Grandma and Grandpa Flynn's and then went up to Grandma and Grandpa Sawyer's. I finally got my cheese soup! Yeah!! Thanks Kathy it was delicious as always. Landon was intriqued with the pinball machine and spent most of the night on top of it watchng whoever was playing. Landon loves his uncle Jake and was in his shadow most of the night. Today it was so cute because he kept climbing on the back of the couch and pointing to Jake in the family picture and saying "Unca Gake, Unca Gake"

Pumpkins!!!

We have done quite a bit of pumpkin carving this Halloween. Last weekend when we went to Beth and Gary's we carved pumpkins. It's a tradition we have with my Mom and every year we get together to carve all our pumpkins. Adam and I left the trunk or treat early because Evil Kinevel was ready for bed. So, my Mom and Lawrence brought our pumpkins home for us. Well, Lawrence wasn't quite thinking clearly and didn't set the pumpkins inside the net in the back, so they just rolled around freely when they started driving. By the time they pulled over, some permanent damage was already done. Adam had done Dash from the Incredibles and I did the Cheshire Cat. Mine survived, but we had to bury Adam's. So we decided to carve again last night so that Adam could have a pumpkin too :)
The Master hard at work.

Landon with his baby pumpkin. He wasn't too into doing his own tonight. He mainly watched Mom and Dad carve theirs.

Evil Knievel

This year for Halloween Landon is being Evil Knievel. I thought it just fit :) On Saturday we went down to see Beth and Gary and went to their ward's Halloween Carnival. This is his first Halloween that he is aware of what is going on and he kind of gets it but not really. In preparation for the Carnival Landon thought he needed to get more "into character" and cut his lip and chin open twice attempting stunts and cut his lip again at the carnival. He claims he was just getting into character, but I just don't quite believe it given his history :) I'm still amazed we haven't had to take him to the ER yet, but once again he claims he is a professional stunt devil and knows exactly what he is doing :)

Evil Knievel thought he deserved some prizes for just being him and kept trying to "assist" others in picking out their prize.

I don't know how he does it, but Evil Knievel has the ability to find the play button on every electronic he comes in contact with. His favorite thing at the carnival was the cake walk. The only problem was, he liked the music and has a 0.5 second patience span. So everytime they would turn the music off to call a number he would walk over and press play!!

Evil Knievel was being very difficult for pictures. He kept trying to run off to go back on the stage and perform his next trick, after he finished his bottle. Every stunt devil has a bottle before he goes on stage right?

Every year Beth and Gary are pirates for Halloween. Gary dresses up as Jack Sparrow and Beth is Elizabeth Swan (as a pirate). So this year Allie was Jack, the monkey in Pirates. So here is me holding the little monkey :)

High School Musical Anyone?

So last night I went and saw High School Musical 3 with my sis-in-law and my 2 nieces (Hannah and Livie). They were so cute!! They both absolutely love High School Musical and were SO EXCITED to go. They were all decked out in shirts and everything. Beckie took some cute pics, so you'll have to visit her blog cuz I know she'll post em. The movie was really good too. I'm not a huge musical fan, but this one was good! Just wanted to say thanks to the girls and Beck for letting me tag along, IT WAS A BLAST!!! Go East High :)

Tired??

Yesterday while Landon was eating lunch I got a phone call. So, I was sitting in the livingroom and talking on the phone while he ate. When I hung up I thought to myself, he is being really quiet. So I walked into the kitchen and this is what I found. He was dead asleep. I couldn't help leave him there for a minute while I went and grabbed the camera :)

I've been tagged!!

1. I too am afraid of Spiders. The other day we found a black widow in our backyard. I freaked and pulled out all the weeds and made Adam go buy bug killer spray and spray the entire house for spiders.

2. My favorite band is the Goo Goo Dolls.

3. I used to be a huge soccer fan. I played for ten years starting in the K AYSO league when I was 5 and it was bunch ball. When I was in Jr. High I played on a Comp team and soccer was my life.

4. I have OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) to a degree, but can keep it in check most of the time. It comes out the most in me having to have things organized. Just ask Adam, I drive him crazy with it sometimes :)

5. When I was little I was in love with Bon Jovi and thought we were going to get married because the song Living on a Prayer was actually about me.

6. My second toe is longer than my big toe and my fourth toe is so ugly and ashamed of itself that it hides under my middle toe :) I know I have ugly feet, but if you look at the Christis, His second toe is longer than His big toe, therefore my family is positive we have perfect feet :)

7. I have 2 birthmarks. One on my stomach and one on my back.

I don't really know many people who have blogs except for people who have already been tagged. So, the only people I really can tag are Jaycee, Dee Dee, and Jamie (if she ever gets her blog up and running :).

Consequences

While we were on the cruise we left Landon with my Mom. He picked up a few new habits while we were gone. One is that he now demands to sit on the sink counter with the water on, so he can put his feet in the running water while he brushes his teeth with his new Thomas the Train toothbrush that sings the theme song. This is the only way he will brush his teeth. Love you Grandma Flynn :)

Well I'm surprised I'm the first one to post this, I thought Jake would have went on last night at midnight to post! Adam's brother Jake got his mission call last night and he is going to Rome Italy!!! We are so excited for him, but sad too. We're gonna miss ya Jake, you're the life of any and every party, but you're gonna make one GREAT MISSIONARY!! LOVE YA!!!

Favorite Game!!!

This is one of Landon's favorite games!! I promise we're not being mean, he absolutley loves it!!! If anyone has ever seen Adam's pillow you'll now that it consists of maybe 5 feathers left in the entire pillow, so it's extra soft. Landon is CRAZY!!! His other favorite games are to be launched onto the bed and into the pillows from across the room, or jumping off things like the couch or anything he can climb onto and dives head first onto the floor!

P.S. here you go Grandma Sawyer and Aunt Beckie.
